Community in the Gardens

If compost is more than a crossword word…If making your garden bloom gives you real satisfaction….and if you're interested in meeting like-minded people… then come and be part of the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens' new program, Community at the Gardens, aimed at the over 55's!

Open every Sunday and Wednesday at the Gardens,  from 8.30-12.00, the initiative offers lectures, workshops and tours related to gardening, the environment and green living in general, as well as opportunities for physical exercise in the Gardens' beautiful surroundings. Sunday meetings are held in the Visitor's Center auditorium and on Wednesday, activities take place at the greenhouse next to the Burla Street Gate.

Participants who are interested will receive training and support to go into the community to create and maintain window plants for - and spend time on a voluntary basis with - elderly individuals living alone and confined to their homes.
